The project owner inherited the farm in 2005. He then formed a civil partnership in 2006, which he ran until 2019 with a friend.
Since 2018, he has been producing berries for individual customers and intermediaries farmers.
His main income is crop production: blueberries 21ha, raspberries 3ha, strawberries 1ha, cranberries 0.5ha, blackberries 0.5ha. The agro-entrepreneur owns an entire fruit packing and packing line. He also runs a nursery of blueberry seedlings on about 0.5ha.
He has regular customers such as AgroSar and PolMar, so his products also reach supermarkets. The farmer has 3 own retail outlets. The remaining fruit is sold at the market. All the farmer's crops are insured against weather events by Generali Agro.
In 2021, the farmer replaced all tractors with new ones and purchased a new sprayer. He currently uses machinery such as:
- KUBOTA tractor with loader (2021)
- KUBOTA tractor with mower (2021)
- SOLIS 90 2x orchard tractors (2021)
- single-axle sprayer AGROL
- x10 orchard trailers
The farmer has 10 permanent employees. During the 6 months, he has 40 people working for him, and during the season it is up to 100 people. The fruit is stored in a 400m2 storage facility, for which the farmer rents two more buildings.
In the future, the farmer plans to purchase a blueberry harvester and replace some of the blueberry plantings. Photovoltaic panels will be installed within the next year.
The financing from HeavyFinance, will help the farmer to complete the planting and make his farm more sustainable through the use of new machinery. The loan is part of a larger working capital financing.
In 2020, the client's income was 313,987 €. The difference in income in 2022 and 2021 is due to the lower price of blueberries last year.
For 2023, the agro entrepreneur is planning between 842,000 - 1,053,300 € in revenue, as the farm has increased its planting acreage by 15ha.
Income for 2022 consists of 2,158 € in subsidies. The farmer takes subsidies up to 13 ha, this is due to the type of cooperation with people who lease the land.
